Short answer
At least three Utah affiliates list youth programs: CrossFit Zion (teens 12 and up, St. George), CrossFit Helo (teens, $100 a month, West Jordan) and Black Canyon CrossFit (kids and teens, $50 a month, Mount Pleasant). Ask any other gym; many coach teens in adult classes with a parent’s waiver.

What a good youth class looks like
- Technique before load. PVC pipes, empty bars and light kettlebells, with loads raised only after the movement is consistent.
- Short, varied workouts and games. Kids classes especially should feel like play.
- A coach who has worked with kids. Ask about the coach’s youth experience and how they handle growth spurts and sore joints.
- Separate classes or a clear plan in adult classes. Teens in adult classes should have their own scaling, not adult Rx loads.
Questions people ask
